"One of you will betray me": These words, just uttered by Christ to the apostles, animate the scene of THE LAST SUPPER, in which the viewer, entering the refectory of the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, finds himself involved. The genius of the painter and that of the scientist are combined in the perspective solution found by Leonardo to have the observer a participant in the event: the real surroundings continue into the artificial one, the perspective is carried out on the wall at the end of the room on which the scene is painted, creating a new, dramatic relationship between the observer and the evangelical event.
